The Book of Revelation Chapter 10 – Overview

Were we to read further in Revelation chapter 10, we would find the angel instructing John to eat the ‘little book’ or scroll.  Jesus said for us to eat His Body in re-remembrance of Him.  As we partake of each other, as He mingles our lives together, then the ‘mystery’ is revealed… which is Christ in US (plural, corporate body).  It is this re-membered, many-membered Body of Christ with Jesus the Head, who is the heir or possessor of the Abrahamic covenant to inherit the world, as we read in Romans 4:13.

Now returning to Revelation 10, John witnesses the angel swearing to God that there will be “delay no longer”. So if one assumes the context of Daniel 12:1-7 as what this angel is referring to, given the obvious connections the context is making with this early passage, it means that the things predicted to come to pass in Dan12:1-6 are to come to completion very soon. Furthermore, he goes on to tell the readers that this completion is to come to pass in congruence with the “Mystery of God” is finished, when the 7th Trumpet is to about to be blown  This is why it is also known as the mystery of the gospel, for this is the purpose of the gospel.

God gives them miraculous power while on earth. If they are attacked, They can devour their enemies by fire from their mouth. Elijah was always pretty good with fire, if you’ll remember. God miraculously used fire to convince the king and the people that the prophets of Baal worshipped and caused the people to worship a non-entity. God answered Elijah’s simple prayer by fire from heaven. So it will be here. The word of their mouth will call down fire to consume their enemies. If any man hurts them, he will be killed in this manner.

It is important to make our stand for God or against God before the seventh trumpet sounds.   Once the seventh trumpet sounds, there will be no chance for changing our heart or mind.  At that time, the choices we made throughout our life will seal our destiny–to be with God forever or destroyed forever

In these verses, we see Satan’s final battle with God and His forces. Michael defeats Satan and his angels, and their place is no longer found in Heaven. A loud voice announces from heaven the results of the battle. Salvation and strength, the kingdom of God and the power of Christ have overcome. Satan is cast down who accused the brethren of their failings in God’s sight day and night

This is why it is also known as the mystery of the gospel, for this is the purpose of the gospel. The mystery of God that He reveals to His children is His purpose for them, the plan of redemption. Compare 1 Timothy 3:16.
